New Season Sarah Louise in store and on line....
]]>New Season Mayoral in store and on line now...
]]>Why? Because that’s extra time that your child has to sit on the plane. This is one that you’d have to decide based on your own children and what you think they would cope with better. Babies and very young children don’t like to be looking at the same thing for too long, so boarding earlier may not always be the best way to go. Perhaps if you’re travelling with a partner, they could board early with the carry on luggage, and then you could wait until the last minute to board with your baby.
Travel with a pack of disposable bibs in your hand luggage and put your normal bibs in your hold luggage. This saves you having to carry around dirty, soggy bibs whilst travelling.
Make sure your hand luggage can comfortably fit under the chair in front of you so you don’t have to keep getting up and fetching things from a bag stored in the overhead cabins.
It can get chilly on board with the air conditioning, a blanket from home is warm, comforting and familiar for your little one.
If you missed last week's list, check it out for more great advice!
Happy Holidays!

Babies tend to get fussier towards late afternoon/early evening. If you’ve only got a short flight to your destination, opting for a morning departure will hopefully mean your baby is more refreshed from a good sleep the previous night and therefore reducing the risk of a tiredness meltdown. Plus you’re more likely to reach your accommodation on the other end before bed time reducing the disruption to routine.
If you can do laundry at your destination, then that will significantly reduce the amount of clothes you need to take. Don’t forget that there are mums all across the world who need to buy the exact same things you need to buy for their babies, so things like wipes, nappies etc will be easy to pick up once you’re there. Providing you’re not holidaying in a remote village in the middle of the rainforest….
If you have the option to choose your seat then you may want to consider a few of the following. Will you be breast feeding? If so, would you prefer a window seat for privacy and safe from the passing service trolley bashing your elbows. Or, would you prefer an aisle seat with easy access to the toilet and the rest of the plane for when your baby inevitably needs a change of scenery. You can also book seats with extra leg room and some airlines even provide bassinets for your baby.
Need we say more? Snacks, snacks and more snacks. You may also want to buy some new entertainment for your child and let them open them at various intervals along the way so as to avoid them getting bored and fidgety. A new colouring book, sticker book, downloaded game on the ipad etc along with their favourite snacks will make flying a fun and special experience for them.
This winning combination frees up your hands for the airport and boarding/exiting the plane.
What would be your top tips for flying with young children? Share with us to help other mummies and daddies who may be heading away somewhere this Summer.
Have you got all the kids holiday clothes yet? We have a massive sale on our spring/summer collections so head over and take a look if you want to grab a bargain before you fly!
Happy Holidays!

Mayoral is the leading brand for children’s wear in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the most important groups specialising in children’s fashion in Europe. What started out as a small family business, making tights and socks in Malaga nearly a century ago, has now grown into an international brand distributing children’s fashion to over 100 countries. The manufacturing of children’s clothing began in the 1970s and has gone from strength to strength ever since resulting in the popular brand we see today. It is a brand with a unique, vibrant personality providing customers with a fantastic product that is fashionable, price conscious and of the highest quality.
We love the brand here at Kinder Boutique and know you will too. We started stocking Mayoral last winter and will shortly be going into our third season with the brand. Jill, owner of KB, originally bought Mayoral for her grandson when he was a baby and immediately loved the quality and designs, as well as how fantastically it wears and washes. It’s a very versatile, quality brand giving the option to dress up or dress down and all at a very reasonable price. We’ve found that our customers love the footwear, accessories and the extensive age range of the clothing from tiny baby right up to 18 years.
What do YOU love about Mayoral clothes?
Here’s some of our favourites up for grabs in our BIG SUMMER SALE now on:
So, what are the top things to consider when choosing the perfect flower girl dress?
]]>Whether your flower girl is a daughter, niece, cousin, sister or family friend, wearing the perfect dress will not only bring an added ‘awww’ factor to your wedding day but will also make her feel special and confident and more likely to smile adorably for the cameras on the big day!
So, what are the top things to consider when choosing the perfect flower girl dress?
This may determine sleeve length, footwear and choice of extra layers. Whilst open toe sandals are an option for summer weddings, shoes tend to be the most popular choice. Rainbow club cushioned shoes are extremely light and comfortable, however these are finished in satin, so patent styles would be more appropriate for out of the Summer season. Boleros, shrugs and cardigans are considerations for the cooler months. Lightweight organza and cotton boleros are great for cooler weather and fur shrugs look fabulous for winter weddings. Fine sheer tights are always a good option and more popular with older girls, whereas cute frilly socks look gorgeous on little ones.
If in doubt, go up a size. You’ll want to start looking at flower girl dresses well in advance of the wedding to allow for ordering items in if needed, especially if you’re wanting multiple sizes.
It’s in everyone's best interests that the flower girl feels happy and comfortable in her dress otherwise it might get torn off before the wedding has even started! Trying on for size is important but also trying on for comfort and to ensure your flower girl likes it and feel good in it, is also important.
Of course you want the fabric to fit in with the style of your wedding, whether it’s light, simple and floaty or something a little more formal and detailed. The most popular fabric chosen by manufacturers is quality polyester, it’s comfortable, light, cool and perfect for the inner lining. Fabric for the outer body of the dress vary widely depending on style and manufacturer. Polyester, soft combed cotton, organza (nylon), satin, silk and taffeta are amongst the most popular fabrics used. These fabrics are then often beautifully embroidered and embellished with rhinestones, pearls, sequins, jewels, lace and ribbon.
Avoid a very long gown, you don’t want any trips or falls whilst walking down the aisle. Ballerina or tea length are perfect to avoid this and of course to show off their gorgeous shoes.
It may seem obvious but once the dress is on, limit food and drink to water and dry, colourless snacks like cheese and crackers. You may want to gift your flower girl with a new game to play to entertain her whilst the bridal party finish getting ready.
Happy Wedding Day and Congratulations!

Back in March 2014 I found out I was expecting a new grandson. My husband and I were of course over the moon at the news and wanted to buy a special outfit for him to celebrate. We searched for the perfect gift and eventually found what we were looking for in Harvey Nichols in Leeds. Whilst searching for this gift, I really felt that this was a market that I would love to be involved in, a wish that only grew stronger throughout my daughter’s pregnancy with the many children’s wear shops we visited.
I had always had the dream to own my own business, and this dream began to take form as I started teaming together my love for high quality children’s clothing with my many years of experience in retail and management. I have spent many years working in the education sector with pupils of varying ages and I used to organise and run playgroups when my own children were small, so being involved with children and families is something I have always very much enjoyed. All of these factors eventually led me to take the plunge and decide to open my very own children’s wear shop here in Sheffield.
When thinking about what brands to stock, I knew I only wanted to offer brands that I could 100% vouch for as being fantastic quality. All the brands I stock are special to me in different ways but quality, trend and versatility of the range is very important as well as the pricing. Our grandson has worn clothes from across the ranges of clothes I stock so I know how well they fit, wash and wear. If I was unhappy with any aspect of the quality I wouldn’t stock them.
I absolutely love traditional children’s clothing, and I particularly adore Sarah Louise which is why it was at the top of my list when initially looking for brands to stock. In fact, Sarah Louise was a favourite when my children were little and I even still have their christening outfits some 31 years on! The styles, fabrics and attention to detail are exquisite, they wear and wash brilliantly, and the quality has never been compromised in the three decades I’ve known and loved the brand. You undoubtedly get impeccable quality and value for your money with Sarah Louise items, outfits which truly stand the test of time.
I’m extremely proud of the shop I have today. It is quite literally full to the brim, with beautiful outfits and accessories ready to be loved and worn over and over and over again. I place a big emphasis on customer service, making sure my customers are well looked after and 100% happy with their purchases. I look forward to helping new and returning customers find the perfect outfits for their little ones for many years to come!
